LevelUp.Hosting

AppHost-only living-standards package for the lvlup-sw paved road. Referenced only by Aspire AppHost projects — it depends on Aspire.Hosting and is the complement to LevelUp.ServiceDefaults.* (referenced by services, which must never depend on Aspire.Hosting). A packaged build-time guard fails the build if it is referenced from a non-AppHost project (IsAspireHost != true).

What it does

  • AddLevelUpOnboarding() registers a run-mode IDistributedApplicationEventingSubscriber that, on AfterResourcesCreatedEvent (skipped in publish mode via ExecutionContext.IsPublishMode), registers each resource tagged with WithOtlpRegistration(...) through an IOnboardingRegistrar. The shipped default registrar logs only — the real observability-gateway + Strategos data-fabric registrar lands in Phase 7. Registration is idempotent across a re-fired event.
  • WithOtlpRegistration(team, tier) tags a resource with a single-valued OtlpRegistrationAnnotation (ResourceAnnotationMutationBehavior.Replace).

Ownership boundary

LevelUp.Hosting.* is AppHost-only and depends on Aspire.Hosting; LevelUp.ServiceDefaults.* is service-side and never depends on Aspire.Hosting. The two families are complementary and never merged — enforced by scripts/verify-package-boundaries.sh (CI) and the packaged IsAspireHost guard.
