Introduction

Very small library to help with in-process scanning for types in all (Non-Microsoft) assemblies in the current AppDomain

This library is primarily built to be used by our other libraries, where we do automatic DI registration of some types.

The static Discovery class exposes a few methods to help with this:

  • GetTypes() - Returns all types
  • GetTypes<T>() - Returns all types that implement or inherit from the given type
  • GetTypes(Func<Type, bool> predicate) - Returns all types that match the predicate

The first time you call any of these methods, the library will scan all assemblies in the current AppDomain and cache the results. Subsequent calls will return the cached results.

The library also exposes the following additional methods:

  • AddType(Type type) - Adds a type to the cache
  • Rescan()- Clears the cache and rescans all assemblies in the current AppDomain

All methods are thread-safe.
