Oakrey.Network.IpScanner

Overview

The "IpScanner" project is a .NET 8 library designed for scanning IP address ranges to discover active network devices. It leverages reactive programming principles to provide real-time updates on discovered devices and remaining scans.

Features

IP Range Scanning:

The IpScanner class performs asynchronous scanning of IP ranges using the Ping utility. The IpAddressRangeExtensions class provides helper methods to generate IP ranges from a given base address.

Reactive Programming:

Implements IObservable<NetworkDeviceInfo> to notify subscribers about discovered devices. Tracks and emits the number of remaining scans using a reactive BehaviorSubject.

Device Discovery:

Processes successful ping replies to identify active devices and wraps them in NetworkDeviceInfo.

Error Handling:

Logs errors and handles task cancellations gracefully during the scanning process.

Integration:

Utilizes abstractions from the "Abstraction" project for IP address management. Relies on the "Tools" project for additional utilities.

Installation

You can install the package via NuGet Package Manager, Package Manager Console or the .NET CLI.
